小泉政権のイラン核問題への対応の薄さにはビックリだ。

Japan Actively Supports Turkey in Fight Against PKK

The Far East has lent a helping hand to Turkey, who could not find any support from the European countries in its fight against terrorism.

Japan offers its full support to Turkey on the subject of cutting the financial sources of the terrorist organization Kurdish Workers' Party (PKK).

On Wednesday, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayip Erdogan reportedly negotiated with his Japanese counterpart Junichiro Koizumi in the fight against terrorism.

Erdogan disclosed Turkey has lost its 40,000 of its sons due to terror in the country; his Japanese counterpart, paying an official visit to Turkey after a 15-year interval of top level Japanese visit, declared they decided to freeze the PKK's financial assets.

Diplomatic sources reported two Kurdish terrorists seeking political asylum from Japan in 2005 were sent back to Turkey despite pressure from international organizations.

Ankara, revealing the Japan-Kurdistan Friendship Foundation as a prolongation of the terror organization asked Tokyo to take necessary steps.

Again, the diplomats emphasizing both countries will collaborate to fight against terrorism, recorded Turkish and Japanese experts are expected to gather in April in order to discuss the issue further.

Koizumi accompanied by Turkish Minister of Transport Binali Yildirim arrived inat Istanbul on Wednesday, following his contacts in Ankara.

The Japanese Prime Minister is to examine the Marmaray Project on Thursday after his evaluation meeting with the Japanese press members at Ciragan Palace.

Koizumi is expected to return to Japan after wrapping up his official contacts on Thursday.

イラン核問題早期解決を　日・トルコ首脳が一致
　【アンカラ１０日共同】小泉純一郎首相とトルコのエルドアン首相は１０日午後（日本時間同日夜）のアンカラ市内での会談で、イランが核燃料製造に関する研究を再開したことについて、早期に問題解決を図るべきだとの認識で一致した。
　小泉首相は、イランの核開発について「懸念すべき動きが出ており、互いに関心を持って協議したい。英国、フランス、ドイツとの交渉に早期復帰するよう働き掛けている」と強調。エルドアン首相は「国際原子力機関（ＩＡＥＡ）を重視する立場で解決する必要がある」と指摘した。
　小泉首相はパレスチナ新和平案（ロードマップ）の推進に向け、イスラエル、パレスチナとヨルダンの政府関係者を東京に招いて会合を開く計画を表明。この後、エルドアン首相主催の夕食会に出席し「悠久の歴史と文明を誇るトルコに敬意と好感を抱いていた。念願かなって訪問できた」と述べた。

今月９日からトルコを訪問していた小泉総理大臣が、１３日午後１時半過ぎ、政府専用機で羽田空港に帰国しました。空港では、トルコで鳥インフルエンザの感染者が相次いでいることから、タラップの下に用意された消毒用のマットの上を歩いて靴底を消毒しました。小泉総理大臣は、トルコ滞在中、首都のアンカラでエルドアン首相と会談し、中東和平の進展やイラクの復興支援に緊密に協力して取り組んでいくことで合意しました。
