2006/7/21、国境なき医師団のチームの1つは7月20日(木)にレバノンに入国し、他のチームもレバノンや周辺国に到着しはじめています。チームは医療援助活動の準備のため、避難民を中心とする市民のニーズを調査中です。活動に必要な物資を現在輸送しています。

Syrians donate blood on Tuesday, July 18, 2006 in Damascus at one of the centers offered by the Syrian government for the Lebanese wounded. On Monday Syria launched a week-long campaign of blood donation through the Syrian Red Crescent Organization in favor of the Lebanese who have been subject to Israeli attacks for the eighth straight day. 国際赤十字に同時加盟 イスラエルとパレスチナ

【ジュネーブ２２日共同】国際赤十字社・赤新月社連盟は２２日未明、ジュネーブで臨時総会を開き、イスラエルの救急活動組織「マゲン・ダビド・アドム（ダビデの赤い盾）」とパレスチナ赤新月社の連盟加盟を承認した。これにより連盟加盟国・地域は１８５になった。
ただ、同時加盟を果たしたイスラエルとパレスチナの両組織が救急活動の協力などを進められるかどうかは、パレスチナを取り巻く政治状況に大きく左右されるため、極めて不透明だ。
マゲン・ダビド・アドムはイスラエルの建国以前から連盟への参加を申請していたが、キリスト教やイスラム教の象徴を連想させる十字と新月のマークを使うことを拒んだことや、中東和平問題などが障害となり、認められなかった。
